RACE DAY! ... and yep, I'm going to pin a number on ... hell what else am I going to do :)
As you guys know, this was a touch and go thing. I don't want this to come across the wrong way, as this is very much amature sport, but I did feel I owed it to a few people, no less Elizabeth that I did pin a number on.
Maybe I can chat about this in a later VLOG, but there is a sense of if you make sacrifices, especially when it includes time away from your family, you go out there and give it a go. At the end of the day the only thing I was going to harm was my pride (from not doing a good performance) and that is a silly thing to be worrying about.
As for the day itself, WOW, from start to finish it was an incredible experience. When I was getting tailed off around lap 10 or 11, I could hear heaps of people cheering me on. That you very much guys.
Cheers to the lads for shooting all that footage, big ups to Sam who clearly has a future as a Cycling interviewer!
