As part of the build up and release of the Nero Racing Team Edition team and kits, I've challenged myself to do a regular VLOG following the progress.
Saturday the 3rd of December saw the inaugural L’Étape Australia by Le Tour de France, a mass participation event located in the beautiful Snowy Mountains region of NSW. No better way to start the VLOG right?!?!
It wasn't looking good as at 8pm on Thursday night as I still hadn't received the race team sample from the factory. Thankfully a fully committed TNT man knocked on the door giving me the opportunity to test the kit not only via a gruelling day on a bike, but in front of a lot of eyes.
As for the ride itself, it couldn't have gone better with an incredible community support and perfect weather making for a suitably tough but enjoyable ride.
Darcy Ellerm-Norton took the fastest time, while I was lucky enough to hold on for line honours collecting the yellow Jersey (from Chris Froome, not often you get to write that sentence) as well as the Poka Dot KOM Jersey. The Australian National Road Race Champion Amanda Spratt took out the womens fastest time and line honours. Chapeau.
Like I said, I'm hoping to capture our Nero Racing Team Edition journey over the next month or so. This is not going to be a highly produced 'look how good my kit is in this golden hour of sunlight'; it will aim to be a proper fly on the wall look at what is involved in getting something like this off the ground. I hope you will come on the journey with us.
